Brochure Updates!

I added facebook and twitter links to the back page.

Brochure

I did mine as a tri-fold. For the graphics such as the remote, television and iPhone, I searched for clipart on google and then traced them in illustrator and changed the colors and added/removed some details. I tried to keep the color scheme consistant with black, white and red.

Business Card

I wanted to work on the background color but  I was having trouble and didn't have much time in the lab.
I'm also thinking about changing the "Where the fans are in control" in red rather than black so it would stand out more.

An application/channel for people to watch sports.

ESPN doesn't allow you to customize the angle at which you can watch games, however they have been around since the 70's and are known worldwide.

Lyrical Collage

I didn't know how to adjust the dpi...but this was certainly my favorite project. I had a lot of fun trying to perfect it. I know the instructions said one line, but I really thought the whole "dialogue" fit, although I did edit some lines out for spacing purposes. I like how I have players in the water and some images emerging out of the clouds. I mostly used filters, the blur tool, crop tool the eraser tool, blending tools, shadow and glow. I adjusted the colors as well.

The photo of myself was taken inside, so I downsized it and messed around with it's vibrance, colors and contrast to try to match the colors and lighting.

Here are the originals:

Vector Illustration

HUNGER!

When I was trying to come up with an idea of what to use for my illustration, I was extremely hungry and for some reason thought of donuts! So my illustration represents the word, hunger.
I tried to make it as detailed as I can. I'm still having trouble using the gradient tool. I tried to change the colors of the frosting to represent the "swirls."

Final Logo!

This is my final logo for Bird's Eye View! I tried to incorporated everyone's ideas and combine all my sketches into one clean look. I tried to imagine this as a logo that would be seen in the corner of your TV as you're watching the games. I chose a black, all caps font because I wanted a clean look. I also wanted and "ESPN" feel because of how familiar it is to my target audience. I included baseball, basketall, hockey, and football in my final logo because those are the sports that it would be focusing on.

Calligramme!

I was playing around with illustrator, so I made a couple different ones.
The first is a quote from Rocky Balboa and the second is a quote by Derek Jeter about Yankee Stadium.

Still not 100% sure if this is the company I'm going with, but here are my sketches!

Logo Critiques

The logo for Target makes me believe that their prices and products are right on "target." The logo doesn't seem to be designed for a specific gender or age. It seems to be designed to draw attention and to be recognizable. The color choice is perfect! The red allows the logo to stand out, whether it be in a commercial, newspaper, or on a billboard.

I personally love the logo for Menchies. Whenever I see it, I immediately crave froyo. I think the logo is fun and attracts the attention of both kids and adults. The company has fun with the logo, and also allows it's customers to have fun with it. It's easy to have fun with because it's not only a logo, but kind of a mascot. Every so often, their froyo cups have different themes with their logo incorporated. I think the colors are perfect. The soft colors attracts people because it makes you crave something sweet or fruity.

Major League Ball's logo is very sleek and classy. The player swinging the bat at a ball makes it very recognizable and obvious to what it's associated with. I think it's more appealing to men because men seem to be more interested in baseball than women. Also the colors are darker and more distinct, while women seem to be more attracted to darker colors. However, I do think that the colors are perfect. Red, white and blue are the colors of the American flag and baseball is considered "America's Past Time."

The Twitter logo is fun and simple. Twitter was meant to be a fun social networking site/app and the logo is perfect for that. It isn't too serious, it is creative and fun!  It appeals to all ages with its use of blue. It's a fun color that makes people happy. Twitter wasn't created for a specific gender and the logo does a good job or representing that through it's color and design.

The Disney logo is fun, yet classy. It was meant to draw in people of all ages with it's representation of Cinderella's castle, which is recognizeable across the globe. The logo is not only shown with this color scheme. It changes based on what aspect of Disney that it is advertising. This also helps the audience relate to the logos better. I know this logo makes me happy! Just seeing it makes me want to go to Disney or pop in one of my classic Disney movies!

Let the Semester Begin! :)

Hi! My name is Tina DiVilio, I'm a junior at the University of Tampa studying communications. I'm from Holiday, FL and currently still commute to UT from home.
After volunteering with them for a year, I am a LightningVision intern/stage manager for the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Storm. In the future, I would like to work in production for a sports team. I have always loved video editing and working with live action. I've also always been a huge sports fan, specifically a huge fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. I figured, I should just combine my two passions, and so far I love it!
In this class, I'm excited to learn how to use programs such as illustrator and photoshop. I've had a lot of experience working with video editing, so I would like to learn more about graphics and animation.
Looking forward to a great semester in Digital Arts!
